Working with ceramics offers a visceral connection to the planet, literally placing the raw, cool weight of the earth in your hands. This grounding practice bridges the gap between modern expression and the deep history of the soil, utilizing materials that have been weathered and compressed over millions of years. Much like the fossils uncovered by paleontologists, ceramic shards serve as enduring artifacts that resist the decay of time, preserving the human touch within the geological record. To shape clay is to participate in an ancient lineage of transformation, turning the very dust of the earth into a permanent testament of existence that mirrors the permanence of the prehistoric past.

I love drawing, because creation out nothing is possible. I don't have to get it all in front of my lens. I find this is why art that is raw appeals to me more that art that is hyper-realistic. I love art that shows humanity amidst fantasy. I aim to produce art that makes you feel something. A lurch in your gut or pull on your heart.
